Producing professional engineers

First City University College caters to the growing need for professional engineers by offering engineering programmes which are industryrelevant, and by taking on a hands-on approach in teaching to mould these future engineers to be industry-ready.

Guided by the philosophy of providing affordable quality education, teaching and learning at First City UC are handled by capable and dedicated staff who are committed in making sure students excel in their studies.

Faculty members are also actively involved in research activities contributing to fields such as Artificial Intelligence, Educational Technology, Automation, Power, Renewable Energy, Internet Technology, Human Computer reaction, and Communication Engineering.

Apart from the traditional classroom methods in learning, students are exposed to industrial related Integrated Design engineering projects for a duration of eight months in the area of Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC), mechanics, manufacturing and automation, automotive, and aerodynamics, during their Year 3 studies.

For the past ten years, students participated actively in competitions such as E-Genting Bug Hunt and EGenting Programming Competition organised by the Systems Research & Development Department of eGenting Sdn Bhd.

The competitions were also supported by Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation SdnBhd (MDEC). The E-Genting Bug Hunt challenges students in designing and documenting testing procedures to meet software requirements specification.

The E-Genting Programming Competition is a platform to enable students to showcase their programming talent, and the 2017 competition was the fifteenth in the series.

In April 2017, students were involved in an international level Asia Pacific University Robotic Competition 2017 (APRoC 2017) and emerged as the first runner up. Students were challenged to build autonomous robots which have ability to identify, pick and place objects under different mapping scenarios within the allotted time.

To further extend this much sought-after Counseling service , First City UC has organised its first-ever Education Fair at 1 Utama Shopping Centre (Level 2, Oval, New Wing, nearby Starship Galactica) on April 7-8 and April 14-15, 2018.
