Labuan Puteri Umno focuses on young voters

-

LABUAN: Labuan Puteri Umno is focussing on young voters to continue rally behind the Barisan Nasional’s (BN) candidate in the 14th general election.

Its chief, Nur Erney Jamil, said going to the ground is one of the effective approaches to reach young voters and to get them to understand the BN government’s policies and its track record in taking the country to a greater height.

“I am sure the bigger number of young voters will also help determine BN candidate winning the election,” she said yesterday.

Erney said the Umno wing would continue organising people-oriented events to “ensure we have the chance to talk to them in person and get close rapport with them.”

“We have been proactive in approaching young voters with the increase in the number of Puteri members that reached over 700 now compared to only 500 last year and this will help the BN machinery to win handsomely in the 14th general election,” she said.

She added Puteri would go all out to help the BN candidate throughout the 11-day campaign period.

“We will also help ward off the unfounded allegations, fake news and propagandas on BN of which we expect to be widely spread by irresponsible parties including from opposition to hoodwink the people, especially the young voters,” Erney said.
