Sutera Harbour golf challenge wraps up

KOTA KINABALU: Cho Han Jin from Korea emerged as the winner of the Sutera Harbour Bi-Monthly Medal Golf Challenge (April) which concluded at the Sutera Harbour Marina, Golf and Country Club on Sunday.

Han Jin carded a threeover 75 to win the Overall Gross with a five-stroke advantage over Thong Nyuk Foh, while Jonathan Chen placed third on 87.

In the Ladies Gross, Hwang Young Hee, also from Korea, carded an eight-over 80 to notch a seven-stroke advantage over Lee Myung Hee in second spot, while Tricia M. Nickel carded an 88 to take third.

In the Nett category, Tan Lim scored 69 to win the Men’s A Medal, while John Ericson was second on 70, followed by Lee Sang Don in third who played par golf.

Charles Chong clinched the B Medal with a oneunder 71 for a three-stroke advantage over Tiong Seng Hin, while Helmi Hafifudin scored a 79 to finish third.

The C Medal saw Daniel Kim emerge gloriously with an eight-under 64 as Abas Tuah turned in a 67 to claim second spot. Lee Sang Guei carded 68 in third place.

The Ladies Nett saw Wee Youn Ju clinch the top spot with a 66. She edged Naomi Shin by one stroke while Choi Kyung Sil scored 70 to finish third.

In the Senior category, Woo Soo Poo carded a 66 to finish top with a three-stroke advantage over Heo Kwang Eun, while Lee Young Koo was third on 70.

There was also a Super Senior category for players aged 65 and above, which was won by Saludin Abd Salam with a two-under 70.

Lee Il Ku represente­d a Korean group of players to officiate at the prize giving ceremony, which was witnessed by SHMGCC golf operation manager Paul Wong.
