Shafie only going into villages now – Musa

KOTA MARUDU: Chief Minister Tan Sri Datuk Seri Panglima Musa Haji Aman continued his criticism of Parti Warisan Sabah president Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal.

Musa said Shafie only started to care for the people after he had left the Barisan Nasional (BN) and did not often visit his home state while he was the Rural and Regional Development Minister.

“He had millions of funds as a federal minister previously, but he never visited Kudat and only once came to Kota Marudu,” he said when presenting native communal and individual native titles to villagers here yesterday.

“Only now, without a post, he is going into the kampungs (villages). How can you trust that kind of a leader?” said Musa who is Sabah Barisan Nasional chairman.

Musa pointed out many members from opposition parties were leaving to join BN.

“Why is this? It is because they realise only the BN can help the rakyat (people),” he said.

He said BN leaders were not seasonal leaders as they had always remained close to the people before, during and after election periods.

Musa praised Parti Bersatu Sabah president Tan Sri Datuk Seri Panglima Joseph Pairin Kitingan and his deputy Datuk Seri Panglima Dr Maximus Ongkili for constantly putting the people’s welfare as a priority.

“Fighters in PBS like Tan Sri Pairin and Datuk Seri Maximus always think what’s important for the people,” he said.

At yesterday’s event, Musa presented native communal titles to recipients from five villages in Kota Marudu, covering some 6,739 acres.

Musa also presented 407 individual native titles to recipients from three villages under the Sabah Native Land Services (Pantas) programme totalling some 1,076 acres.

Also present was Maximus who is defending the Kota Marudu parliamentary seat in the 14th general election.
