Man fined, jailed for falsifying documents
KUCHING: A man was sentenced to seven days jail and fine of RM10,000, in default two months’ jail, after he was found guilty of forging documents for purchase of a tender form about five years ago.
Judge Nixon Kennedy Kumbong handed down the sentence on Daut Mutang, 53, after finding that the defence had failed to raise reasonable doubts against the prosecution’s case.
Daut, the owner of a company, Syarikat Perusahaan Ritan, requested for a stay of the sentence, but it was dismissed.
He was charged with forging falsifying a document in Maybank KUALA LUMPUR: A lorry driver was fined RM1,400 by the Magistrate’s Court here yesterday for punching a sales promoter on the face.
Magistrate Maizatul Munirah Abdul Rahman meted out the fine on Junaidi Awal Supardi, 35, after he pleaded guilty to a charge with voluntarily causing hurt on Chan Xia Jiong, 25, by the side of the Middle Ring Road 2 here at 12.30 am last April 8.
Junaidi, who has two children, statement of Syarikat Perusahaan Ritan for a transaction on 30 April 2013 by amending RM1,017.94 to RM81,017.94 for purpose of getting the tender from the Sarawak Education Department, through his partner, Stevenson Satu Buas.
He was charged under Section 471 of the Penal Code with using as genuine a forged document and faced an imprisonment for up to two years, or with fine, or both, if found guilty.

Lorry driver fined for punching sales promoter
was charged under Section 323 of the Penal Code, which provides an imprisonment for up to a year, or fine of up to RM2,000, or both, if found guilty. He paid the fine. In mitigation, Junaidi, represented by lawyer Mohamad Zaidi Othman, said he regretted his action and was remorse.
