Turnout indicates strong support for opposition — Christina

-

TAWAU: PKR Sabah chief Christina Liew believed that the strong turnout of bumiputera voters during Parti Warisan Sabah’s meet the people program at Mile 15 Apas on Monday is a strong indication of the very strong support of the people for the opposition’s coalition.

Christina, the Pakatan Harapan (PH) candidate for the Tawau parliamentary seat, said the strong turnout of people to the program held in an Umno stronghold showed that people are ready for the change and are not scared to show who they are supporting in the coming 14th general election (GE14).

In her speech at the event, she said that Warisan under Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal will play a big part in steering the state and the country to a new and better direction.

She said the collaboration between all the parties, including Democratic Action Party (DAP) Sri Tanjong candidate Jimmy Wong Sze Phin, will ensure that together they would able to unite Sabahans who wanted to see a change or a better tomorrow for the country.

Christina, who is also the PH Sabah chairperson, said that any country would require a reasonable amount of security for its people and is something that cannot to be traded.

Without adequate security, she said no Malaysian will feel safe, which is why we see the need to continue such efforts, regardless of the cost it may incur.

She said the Eastern Sabah Security Command (ESSCom) is in place but further improvements on security aspects could still be done in view of internal and external criminal elements.
