400 SAPP, 200 PKR members join BN

-

LAHAD DATU: About 400 members of Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) and 200 members of Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Silam quit and joined Barisan Nasional (BN).

The SAPP members were led by their former candidate in the previous election, Aliandu Enjil while the PKR members were led by their head of branch, Johani Abdul Halim.

Aliandu said they decided to join BN as it is the only party that could really fight for the people’s rights.

Meanwhile, Johani said they had lost confidence in the PKR leadership, especially in Sabah.

He said the leadership was distorted and had lost their direction.

“Being with BN is for the sake of our country and future generation. I am also attracted to the leadership of BN and its leaders in approaching the people and solving their problem,” he added.

Both of them were met during a small ceremony organized by BN, led by Silam BN chairman Datuk Mohd Yusof Apdal.

In the meantime, Yusof said the decision of both leaders proved that they have faith in the BN leadership, which has been consistent in taking care of the interests of the people.

He said BN and Umno are always open for anyone from the opposition and hopes more members of the opposition will change side.

“With the participation of both leaders, it will boost the spirit of our members and supporters.

“I believe that they could also assist us to further strengthen our movement,” he added.
