Do not be hoodwinked by veteran leaders in the opposition — Shahrizat

-

KLUANG: Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman Tan Sri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil yesterday reminded the people to not be influenced by the opposition’s accusations and slander, especially those made by veteran politicians who longer hold any post.

She said the leaders concerned were just betraying themselves and do so at the people’s expense.

“When they held post (in the government), the government parties, their members, including the Wanita members rallied behind and supported them, including during times when they were allegedly involved in scandals.

“But today, they turned their back and betrayed their own principles,” he told reporters after the “Ratu Hati Negaraku” programme with the Sembrong BN Wanita Jalinan Rakyat (JR) at Felda Ulu Belitong here yesterday.

Also present was Sembrong Umno Wanita leader Datuk Noraslina Zainal Abidin.

Shahrizat said the leaders concerned, before joining the oppositions, held on to the principle of loyalty to the party and fight for the people.

However, she said, it had changed with the leaders themselves betraying their own principles.

“So, do not be influenced by the slander and accusations from the opposition. I call on Malaysians not to be their political prey,” she said.

Her advice to the Wanita JR members was for them to comply with all the stipulated procedures in their campaign .

They should not be emotional and to think rationally before going to the polls this Wednesday, she added. - Bernama
