I belong to ‘old DAP’— Bosi

-

KOTA KINABALU: Parti Anak Negeri Penampang chief Dr Edwin Bosi told Kapayan voters yesterday that he belonged to the ‘old DAP’ who had fought Tun Mahathir Mohamad on issues pertaining to Project IC and ISA.

Speaking at a political gathering at a restaurant at Kapayan Rumah Murah (KRM) yesterday morning, Bosi said the best platform for him now is Parti Anak Negeri.

“In essence, the struggle of the Anak Negeri and the old DAP is similar. However, I can enhance my struggle for the natives in Anak Negeri better,” he added.

Bosi said he is and will always fight for the guarantees of the Batu Sumpah - freedom of religion, land and native laws.

“I want to go to parliament to fight for the native rights which are enshrined in Article 153 and 161A of the Federal constitution. The Project IC has diluted the Momogun community from a strong 47% to just 17%. This project, which I dub as ‘ethnic dilution’ has devastated the Momogun community. I want the exercise to be stopped at all cost. I will raise the issue of citizenship in Parliament once I am elected member of parliament for Penampang. I will press for actions on the RCI on illegal immigrants,” he promised.

Bosi also told the crowd that he has not abandoned the voters in Kapayan as the parliamentary constituency of Penampang covers the two state seats of Kapayan and Moyog, adding that he wants to serve the Kapayan electorates at the national level.

He said he had worked hard to the best of his ability in the last five years as Kapayan assemblyman.

“I spoke on a wide range of issues at the Sabah Assembly, including religion, NCR lands, ESSCom and security, food security, wildlife management and so forth,” he said.

Bosi said he is happy to have raised the issue and proposed for the establishment of a Chinese Heritage Museum in Kota Kinabalu to thank the Chinese community for their contribution to the development of Sabah.

The museum will be a hallmark of Chinese history in Sabah and to mark the importance of the Chinese influence in Sabah. It will no doubt become a tourism attraction.

Anak Negeri candidates for Tanjung Aru, Roger Chong, Terrance Tsen for Inanam and Len Lip Fong for Api Api also spoke at the event.
