Candidates among ‘early birds’ casting their vote in GE14

KOTA KINABALU: Aspiring candidates for the 14th general election (GE14) were among the ‘early birds’ who came out yesterday to cast their votes.

Among them were the candidate for the Kimanis parliament­ary seat, Datuk Sri Anifah Haji Aman, and his wife, Siti Rubiah Abdul Samad, both voting at SK Kg Brunei in Membakut. They exchanged greetings with fellow voters as they walked into the polling centre.

Anifah’s competitor for the Kimanis parliament­ary seat, Datuk Karim Bujang, was at SK Kimanis in Kampung Brunei Kimanis to exercise his rights.

Candidate for the Klias state seat, Datuk Seri Lajim Ukin and his wife, Datin Seri Normilah Siong, casted their votes at SK Mempagar at about 10 am yesterday morning. Lajim, who is Harapan Rakyat president is also contesting for the Beaufort parliament­ary seat.

Candidate for the Melalap state seat, Datuk Seri Radin Malleh, and his wife, Datin Seri Angeline Tom, voted at SK Mandalom Lama, Tenom. While there, they were seen assisting the elderly folk to get to the polling centre.

Datuk Francis Goh, the candidate for the Kapayan state seat, exercised his rights by casting his vote at SJK Yue Min in Penampang. He was accompanie­d by his wife.

Candidate for the Sulaman state seat, Datuk Seri Hj Hajiji Noor, voted at SK Serusup in Tuaran.

SAPP president, Datuk Yong Teck Lee, who is contesting for the Kota Kinabalu parliament­ary seat, was accompanie­d by his wife Datin Stella to cast his vote at the Likas Sports Complex.

Candidate for the Sepanggar parliament­ary seat, Datuk Seri Abdul Rahman Dahlan, voted at SK Serusup in Tuaran.
