Lahad Datu Veteran League semifinals is on

KOTA KINABALU: The semifinals of the Lahad Datu Veteran League will be played over the next two days.

The first of the semifinal clash will see KLBK to take on Sunday FC today and followed by the second semifinal between Veteran Bukit Garam FC and Veteran Tungku FC.

Organising chairman Faisal Yee said the matches will be played at Padang Merin at Singga Point starting at 3.30 pm.

According to him, the teams made it into the last four after finishing in the top two of their respective groups.

Undefeated KLBK topped the six-team Group A on 13 points with four wins and a draw while Veteran Tungku FC on eight points came second courtesy of superior goals difference.

Veteran Tungku FC’s goals difference stands at plus five goals to Rapob (+3) and MU Legends (nil).

In the six-team Group B, Veteran Bukit Garam FC won all their matches to claim maximum 15 points while Sunday FC finished second with 12 points.

“The finals will be played on May 13 at 3 pm,” said Faisal via Whatsapp yesterday while adding that Ex-Safa Lahad Datu are the organiser of the tournament.

Meanwhile, Ex-Safa Lahad Datu will also be organising two tournament­s as expected after Hari Raya celebratio­n.

The tournament­s are a 16-team invitation­al competitio­n as well as for school teams namely primary category to be staged ala-carnival and secondary section to be played during weekends, Faisal said.
