Eddie Peng takes time off to bond with director Dante Lam on bike ride

-

HONG KONG: Actor Eddie Peng, known for his active lifestyle, has taken time off to build up his stamina with director Dante Lam.

They have been together on long cycling trips.

Eddie is training for his role in Dante’s new flick Emergency Rescue.

Although Eddie is a certified diver, he shall have to train for at least two months to get into shape for the new role.

Dante is also tying up the loose ends in his movie research.

Initially, he had wanted the cast to adhere to Belgian, Italian and English special diving training standards.

He wanted them all to show credibility as members of the sea rescue team.

Disclosed Dante: “Usually when travelling overseas, many would try scuba diving. My demand of course isn’t just limited to that. Aside from diving to a certain depth, we also had to play the role of a sea rescue team. Actors would need to be familiar with underwater rescue operations, like using the blowtorch, clearing debris to rescue people and resolving difficulties.”

The training shall be conducted in London.

Even before the start of the production, Eddie has been training on breathing techniques.

Joked Dante: “While making (bike racing movie) To The Fore, the daily training in Hong Kong made Eddie fall in love with bicycle riding.”

He added that Taiwan was tailor-made for cycling enthusiasts. There are good bike lanes in Taitung, Tainan and Taichung.

Added Dante: “On the way up the hill you could enjoy a cup of coffee at pretty cafes, stop to enjoy the view, it’s the best!”
