Malaysia Ubah more important — Shafie

-

KOTA KINABALU: Malaysia Ubah is more important than Sabah Ubah, said Parti Warisan Sabah president Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal said.

After spending most of the day in his meeting room, Shafie appeared to be calm as he greeted his supporters at his residence at around 7.40pm yesterday.

His supporters as well as fellow party leaders and media representatives had been waiting at his house from as early as 9am.

This is despite the fact that his opponent, Tan Sri Musa Haji Aman was sworn in as Chief Minister last night.

Shafie said that he was more concerned about watching Tun Mahathir Mohamad’s swearing-in ceremony as the Prime Minister.

Yesterday morning, Shafie was denied entry to Istana Negeri for swearing in as the Chief Minister.

His vehicle was stopped at the Jalan Nanas roundabout leading to Istana Negeri by police personnel who told him that they were awaiting for the green light before he could get into the Istana.

He was later informed STAR president Datuk Dr Jeffrey Kitingan had decided to help Musa become the Chief Minister again and form a new government that is free of Barisan Nasional (BN) and Umno.

Around 11.31am, Upko acting president Datuk Madius Tangau and secretary general Datuk Donald Mojuntin arrived at Shafie’s house to supposedly strike a deal to form a new government with the Warisanled Pakatan Harapan but that also fell through.
