Chronology of events leading to swearing in of Musa as CM

4.30am: Official results for Sabah's state election announced. BN won 29 seats, Opposition won 31 (Warisan and PH 29 + STAR two)

10.40am: Parti Warisan Sabah President Datuk Seri Shafie Adpal left his house for the Istana after it was said that STAR president Datuk Dr Jeffrey Kitingan had agreed to him being made the Sabah Chief Minister.

10.50am: Police mounted a road block near Bandaran Berjaya.

10.53am: Parti Warisan Sabah president Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal returned unexpected­ly to his house in Taman Golf View. He stepped into a room with the party's deputy president Darell Leiking.

11.06: Roadblock was also mounted at Jalan Nanas roundabout near Karamunsin­g. Many vehicles have been asked to turn back.

11.39: UPKO acting President Datuk Madius Tangau and party's Secretary General Datuk Donald Mojuntin arrived at Parti Warisan Sabah president Datuk Seri Shafie's house purportedl­y for negotiatio­ns.

12.16pm: Datuk Madius Tangau and Datuk Donald Mojuntin leave Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal's house without giving any comments.

1.20pm: UPKO calls for a press conference. Tangau announces UPKO joining Parti Warisan Sabah to continue the struggle of the Momogun people.

2.25pm: BN Sabah Chairman Tan Sri Musa Aman tells a press conference that the Coalition has formed a joint government with Sabah STAR through its elected representa­tives, Datuk Dr Jeffrey Kitingan and Robert Tawik. At the same press conference five UPKO elected state assemblyme­n Datuk Bobbey Suan (Nabawan), Datuk Limus Jury (Kuala Penyu), Datuk Masiung Banah (Kuamut), Datuk Abidin Madingkir (Paginatan) and Ewon Benedick (Kadamaian) said they were not consulted on the party's Supreme Council's decision to leave BN. They opted to stay with BN.

2.35pm: Both Sabah BN chief Tan Sri Musa Aman and Parti Warisan Sabah president Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal are claiming victory. Sources on the ground said both are headed for the Istana Negeri separately for the swearing in as the new Chief Minister.

2.37: Sources from Warisan stated earlier that Shafie has set a time for an audience to meet the TYT at 3pm.

2.43pm: State Police Commission­er Datuk Ramli Din has met the TYT and his car was seen leaving the Istana Negeri gate a while ago. Sources said the State Police Commission­er is heading towards Sri Gaya where Tan Sri Musa is camping with BN elected representa­tives and both STAR elected representa­tives, Datuk Dr Jeffrey Kitingan and Robert Tawik.

2.47pm: Shafie and his elected representa­tives are still at his residence, minus the five elected UPKO leaders. Madius is also not at Shafie's house.

2.55pm: Sabah BN Chairman Tan Sri Musa Aman makes his way to Istana purportedl­y to be sworn in as the Sabah Chief Minister.

4:25pm: Tan Sri Musa Aman returning to Sri Gaya. It was learnt that he has yet to be sworn in as Chief Minister and was requested by Head of State Tun Juhar Mahiruddin to return to the Istana Negeri by 8pm.

7.03pm: Sabah BN Chairman Tan Sri Musa Aman leaves Sri Gaya for Istana Negeri.

11.06pm: Tan Sri Musa Aman sworn in as Chief Minister of Sabah.
