KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Yang Dipertua Negeri Tun Juhar Mahiruddin lodged a police report against former Sabah Chief Minister Tan Sri Musa Aman on Saturday night.

When contacted yesterday, Sabah Commissioner of Police Datuk Ramli Din confirmed the matter but declined to divulge any details.

Musa, who is also Sabah Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman, was sworn in as chief minister of Sabah before Juhar on May 10 after the general election the day before.

He was able to be sworn in as chief minister after obtaining a simple majority when two opposition assemblymen declared support for Sabah BN, which had obtained 29 seats in the 60-seat state assembly.

However, two days later, Parti Warisan Sabah president Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal was sworn in as the new chief minister when several BN assemblymen switched allegiance to Warisan, which had also won 29 seats in the election.

With Musa refusing to resign despite not commanding majority support, the private secretary to the Yang Dipertua Sabah, Abinan Asli, on May 14 delivered a notice to Musa that he was no longer the chief minister .

Following that, on May 17, Musa filed a suit at the High Court here against Juhar and Mohd Shafie seeking a declaration that he (Musa) is the rightful chief minister of Sabah. – Bernama
