ESSCom won’t be shut down — commander

-

LAHAD DATU: The Eastern Sabah Security Command (ESSCom) remains committed to continue its excellent work in preventing the cross-border criminal activities at the Eastern Sabah Security Zone (ESSZone), rubbishing allegations in social media that ESSCom will be shut down.

Its commander, DCP Datuk Hazani Ghazali, said this was important so that ESSCom, led by three main agencies, Royal Malaysian Police, Malaysian Armed Forces and Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency, would remain relevant as the main security agency responsible in safeguarding the ESSZone.

Hazani said ESSCom would always focus on planning a variety of approaches to ensure the safety of the country’s waters would always be at its best.

“We will continue to maintain the excellent work that has been achieved before including the success of shooting dead of four Kidnap for Ransom (KFR) group members at Felda Sahabat recently.

“With the new government, we will continue our commitment so that ESSCom will remain relevant,” he said at the ESSCom’s breaking of fast ceremony.

Hazani also denied the allegation spread in the social media that ESSCom would be shut down.

He added that there is no point to believe in the fake news as all the allegations were baseless just to weaken the spirits and morale of ESSCom members.
