Hotel comes to aid of flash flood victims

KOTA KINABALU: Hilton Kota Kinabalu recently made a donation for those affected by the recent flash flood as part of its corporate responsibility.

With several low-lying areas affected by the continuous rain in the district of Penampang, the hotel donated 100 cartons of bottled water and used linens in response to Moyog assemblywoman Jenifer Lasimbang’s call, who is also one of the initiators of the ‘Moyog Broom Squad’ to provide assistance to those who were impacted by the flood.

“As part of Hilton’s Travel with Purpose initiative under its social impact pillar, it is our responsibility to support our team members and the communities where we live, work and travel in times of crisis. Hilton Hotels and Resorts as a whole have consistently displayed a passion for supporting the communities where disaster strikes,” said Hilton Kota Kinabalu general manager Linda Pecoraro.

In its efforts to contribute further to the cause, the hotel is currently running a donation drive amongst its team members for non-perishable goods such as canned items, biscuits, rice and drinking water, including clean used clothes and linen which are still in good condition.
