IPOH: The Perak Menteri Besar's Office, as well as state government departments and agencies are not a party in organising a charity event that involved performance by a singer who was in a sexy dress as was viralled in the social media.

Menteri Besar Ahmad Faizal Azumu, in a statement, said checks had been made and it was found that the event was not sponsored or attended by any representative from the Menteri Besar's office or any other state departments or agencies.

He said this in response to a video, that had been viralled, on a woman singing, who was in a sexy dress, singing and dancing at the event, purportedly organised by a cultural and tourism association in the state on Saturday night. The backdrop on the stage allegedly had words thanking Human Resource Minister M. Kula Segaran and the Menteri Besar, as well as logo of Visit Perak 2017 and Perak Tourism.

Following the incident, Ahmad Faizal said any quarters wanting to use his name would have to obtain prior permission from the Menteri Besar's office.
