RM55,643 raised from Imago ‘Hope Express’ donated to Sabah Cheshire Home

KOTA KINABALU: Imago Shopping Mall collected a total of RM55,643.75 from its charity campaign called ‘Hope Express’ for the Sabah Cheshire Home.

Hope Express is a charity campaign started by Imago Shopping Mall in 2016 to raise awareness of charity home that is in need of help.

Sabah Cheshire Home is charitable home which provides care for individual with disabiliti­es. Registered in 1974, Sabah Cheshire Home launched a few programs which cater for the needs of disabled people such as residentia­l care, livelihood program and early education for children with disabiliti­es.

“We would like to say thank you to the public for all their support toward this charity campaign,” said Dr Raymond Yu, Executive Director of Imago Shopping Mall.

He added that since the Hope Express train started in 2016, they have raised a total of RM200,000 so far and donated to two different charity homes, namely Taman Didikan Kanak Kanak Kurang Upaya and Seri Mengasih Centre.

“We already have chosen the next organizati­on to donate, it will be World Wildlife Fund,” said Raymond.

World Wildlife Fund is a nonprofit organizati­on establishe­d as a National Conservati­on Trust in the year 1972, providing conservati­on programs throughout various platforms, for instance, Sabah Wildlife Department.

WWF aims to generate awareness of protecting natural habitat for animals especially under the IUCN (Internatio­nal Union for Conservati­on of Nature) Red List.

Organized by Imago Shopping Mall, the donation handover event which was held at ground floor, Imago Shopping Mall, saw the cheerful faces of the children from Sabah Cheshire Home.

Also present during the event were Puan Suzaini Datuk Sabdin Ghani, Sabah Tourism Board general manager; Dr John Tay, WWF Head of Conservati­on Sabah and Datuk Rowland Chin, president of Sabah Cheshire Home.
