KUCHING: Julau MP Larry Sng who is a Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Sarawak member has thrown his support for Rafizi Ramli who is challenging Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali for the party deputy presidential post.

Sng, who joined PKR after winning the 14th general election (GE14) last May 9, described Rafizi as a leader who is dynamic and inspiring.

“We have quality leaders in PKR. I personally feel a stronger connection to Rafizi. Not only is he young, he is also dynamic and experienced.

“We share the birthday month but he is two years my senior. I feel that we can work together,” said the 39-year-old when helping Rafizi campaign for deputy president post at a hotel here yesterday.

The event was also held in conjunction with the 20th anniversary of PKR’s ‘reformasi’ protests.

Sng noted that the membership of PKR had doubled since the May 9 polls.

“After GE14, many new members have joined PKR. Our membership has doubled. Hundreds and thousands have joined PKR since GE14.”

He said the party has a lot of hope not only for members but also Malaysians as a whole.

On Rafizi, he said he was inspired by his speeches which had been shared on YouTube.

“We Sarawakians are friendly people. We are willing to listen to your vision and what you aspire to achieve,” asserted Sng.

For Sarawak, he was optimistic that the membership of PKR will double or even triple.

“We have reached a milestone. PKR has now 15 MPs and many ADUNs (state assembly members). We are the biggest lot of Pakatan Harapan (PH).

“It is paramount for us to show the direction where we should be headed and lead this nation,” he said.

He added that many Sarawakians want to know more about a lot of issues and what the PH government is going to offer Sarawak.
