MyJICA to organise Kiken Yochi Training clinic

-

KOTA KINABALU: Japan International Cooperation Agency Alumni Society of Malaysia (myJICA) is organising the Kiken Yochi Training (KYT) clinic at Ranhill Powertron Sdn Bhd, Kota Kinabalu Industrial Park, on October 13.

The program is expected to be officiated by Ranhill Powetron Sdn Bhd chief executive officer and attended by Ranhill Safety and Health Committee, myJICA exco and myJICA Sabah Chapter members.

President of myJICA, Norazizul bin Abdul Aziz, informed that this program had received tremendous support from the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) Sabah and the top management of Ranhill Powertron.

It is an annual program implemented and coordinated by myJICA Sabah Chapter. This is the second KYT event in Sabah after the success of the same event organised in January.

KYT means training to identify hazard, in the Japanese language. It was one of the training modules for the training on occupational safety and health management for Lao PDR, Myanmar and Vietnam under the third country training program in collaboration with DOSH and JICA since 2013.

Participants were exposed to the simple, cheap and practical methods on safety risks and health management. This application can be used at work places as well as non-work places and it had been modified from the original concept and has currently become ‘clinic’ in concept.

myJICA was established and registered under the Registrar of Societies in 1988 and acts as a bridge in the promotion of friendship between participating countries and Japan as well as between ex-participants themselves. This is made possible in part due to the close cooperation of the alumni with their counterparts from JICA overseas offices and the Japanese Embassy.

Most of myJICA members consisting of government officials who attended courses and technical programs organised by JICA. Out of more than 8,000 Malaysians who had undergone various technical training programmes in Japan sponsored under JICA, about 4,000 have joined myJICA.
