MSU student is World Miss University Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: Management and Science University’s (MSU) Bachelor in Food Service Technology student Vanessa Cruez has beaten 32 to the World Miss University Malaysia 2018 (WMUM 2018) crown.

Joining her respective­ly as WMUM 2018 Miss Leadership and Miss Virtue are fellow MSU students of Bachelor in Marketing with Psychology, Shahira Sundu and Bachelor in Hospitalit­y and Tourism Management, Chern Yun Yu.

Vanessa took home cash and prizes worth more than RM10,000 along with a scholarshi­p fund. She will be representi­ng Malaysia at the country’s inaugural hosting of the World Miss University Internatio­nal 29th edition this November at the Putrajaya Internatio­nal Convention Centre (PICC).

The winner of World Miss University Internatio­nal shall also be Ambassador to the World Miss University Peace Service Corps Foundation, and represent the organizati­on in activities promoting world unity and understand­ing.

The search for Miss University Malaysia and World is a global programme promoting peace. Participan­ts from over 123 universiti­es worldwide pit their intellect, wit, personalit­y, leadership, and humanistic values against physical beauty.

The pageant began in 1986 under the patronage of the Internatio­nal University Presidents Associatio­n commemorat­es the Year of Peace acknowledg­ed by the United Nations.
