Give me actual documents instead of CD format — Shafee

-

KUALA LUMPUR: Tan Sri Muhammad Shafee Abdullah requested the public prosecutor to present actual documents in any of the proceeding process of his client’s case.

Muhammad Shafee, who represented the former Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, who faces seven criminal charges of SRC International’s fund totalling to RM4.2mil, has been given a compact disc (CD) format document instead of actual or proper documents by the prosecution.

“The amount of the documents are uncountable but one-third of the documents are defective and cannot be read,” he said at the press conference after Najib’s case was mentioned at the High Court, here yesterday.

Muhammad Shafee also wanted fugitive businessman, Low Teak Jho or Jho Low to be out from his hiding to testify in his client’s case.

In assertive manner, Muhammad Shafee said he would love to cross-examine Jho Low during the proceeding.

“I hope Jho Low appears so we can know the truth, if he is here, he cannot avoid and be called as a witness.

“We have many documents, millions, but we have no individual to give evidence that can provide context and meaning to the documents,” he said adding that Jho Low was the one who could provide more information on the documents.

Commenting on Najib’s case, Muhamad Shafee said he was able to say that they had a very strong defence. - Bernama
