LDP leader takes former division women chief to task

-

KOTA KINABALU: Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) Central Women Movement’s treasurer Carol Lo Pit Hah yesterday took former Karamunting division women chief Wong Tze Fun to task for launching a personal attack and making misleading statements pertaining to the RM3.5 million political fund.

“While we understand her intention to defend a particular individual, Wong is an outsider in this matter who did not know what transpired with the political funds,” said Lo in a statement yesterday.

She said Wong had left LDP in 2010 to join Gerakan.

“She was still with Gerakan during the 13th General Election (GE13) in 2013.

“LDP’s leadership crisis broke out in August 2013, during which Datuk Liew Vui Keong highhandedly sacked almost all the Supreme Council members.

“Wong joined Liew’s camp shortly after.

“So how could Wong possibly know what happened to the RM3.5 million and whether the funds had anything to do with Liew when she was not even a member of LDP during that time?” Lo pointed out.

She said Wong has since joined Parti Warisan Sabah (Warisan).

She took Wong to task for her personal attack against LDP Supreme Council member Nancy Lim, while reminding the former about the alleged corruption case that happened in Karamunting division in the past.

Lo added that former LDP executive secretary Phillip Tsen was previously sacked by Liew for forging his signature as party president.

“Both Wong and Tsen have no credibility at all and their statements cannot be trusted,” she said.

“Someone was trying to avoid taking responsibility for the political fund since being appointed as a minister.

“Liew should take the initiative to step forward and clarify what happened to the RM3.5 million given to LDP during GE13 to the police,” Lo insisted.
