Negeri withdraws awards of Najib, Rosmah

SEREMBAN: The Negeri Sembilan palace yesterday revoked the awards conferred on former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and his wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor.

State Registrar of Awards Dr Razali Ab Malik said the Darjah Seri Utama Negeri Sembilan (SPNS) conferred on Najib in 2005 and the Darjah Seri Paduka Tuanku Ja’afar Yang Amat Terpuji (SPTJ) conferred on Rosmah in 2006 were withdrawn with immediate effect.

He said the revocation of the awards was decided during a special meeting of the Negeri Sembilan awards and medals conferment held at Istana Besar Seri Menanti, Kuala Pilah.

“The decision is aimed at safeguarding the honour of the Negeri Sembilan royal institution,” he said in a statement. - Bernama
