Entreprene­ur carnival in Tuaran

KOTA KINABALU: The Pertubuhan Gagasan Ekonomi Bumiputera Sabah (PGEBS) will be organising the PGEBS Entreprene­ur Carnival 2018 in Tuaran between Nov 26 and Dec 2.

Its president, Jismit Japong, said the aim of the event was to provide a venue for local entreprene­urs and members of the associatio­n to promote and sell their products and services.

Jismit added that PGEBS presently has 1,100 members since it was launched in February this year.

He said that they aimed to increase the ssociation’s membership to 100,000 or 200,000 within three years.

He also said that they aimed to have between 5,000 and 6,000 members within each of the 26 parliament­ary constituen­cies in Sabah.

“Our objective is to raise the economies of our members, improve their socio-economy and provide them with the opportunit­ies to promote themselves,” he said.

Meanwhile, several activities have been planned in the upcoming carnival.

There will be a PGEBS Beauty Contest during the event where the winner stands to win RM7,000 in prize money as well as a trophy and will also serve as PGEBS ambassador.

The second winner will win RM5,000 cash prize while the third winner will take home RM3,500 in cash prize.

Jismit said that the contest is opened to all Malaysians.

There will also be a futsal tournament on Nov 24 and 25 at the Futsal Centre Tamparuli.

Another event is the Battle of the Bands contest on Nov 21. The main prize is a cash of RM7,000.

Registrati­on fees will be charged for entrance.
