Senior cop arrested over bribery released

PUTRAJAYA: A senior police office with the title “Datuk”, who was remanded by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) for investigation in a corruption case involving more than RM100,000, was released yesterday.

Magistrate Joanne Tan Yin Ying ordered the release of the 56-yearold senior assistant commissioner with bail of RM5,000 in one surety.

He was detained by MACC at 7.10 pm last Thursday when he went to give his statement at the commission’s headquarters here.
