Double hit-and-run leaves pedestrian badly injured

MIRI: A pedestrian was seriously hurt after he was struck by two cars in an apparent double hitand-run near the Telang Usan roundabout here Monday night.

The incident happened around 7.50pm when the victim, in his 30s, was crossing the road from his house at Taman Tai Foo towards a restaurant.

It is said that he was first clipped by a passing car and fell on the road but managed to pick himself up.

However, as he ran towards the side of the road, he was struck by a second passing vehicle and ended up sustaining serious head injuries.

Both vehicles did not stop following the incident.

The victim was sent to Miri Hospital and admitted for treatment.

In a separate incident, a woman suffered head injuries after she was hit by a car while walking towards her parked vehicle yesterday.

The 51-year-old was crossing the road towards her vehicle near Taman Bulatan after jogging in the area when the incident happened around 6am.

She was taken to Miri Hospital and admitted for treatment.
