Still no sign of missing man on fifth day

BINTULU: The search and rescue (SAR) operation to find a 34-year-old man who was feared to have drowned near Kuala Tatau Bridge entered its fifth day yesterday.

However, as at press time, the victim Zaidiya Zaini reported missing on Oct 26 has yet to be found.

The victim was said to be looking for scrap iron under the bridge with his younger brother when he was believed swept away by strong river current.

Tatau Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) chief Nazari Harun said the operation resumed at 7.48am yesterday with a surface search.

The operation involved three Bintulu Marine Police personnel, four Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM) members, three policemen and five firefighte­rs.
