The iconic Disney character, who celebrates her 90th anniversary this November along with partner in crime Mickey, has been kitted out by the famous fashion designer for an upcoming TV appearance, WWD reports.

The TV show wil, set to air on ABC on Nov 4, will honour Mickey and Minnie’s cultural significance.

“Obviously she’s an icon and she had to have a wrap dress,” von Furstenberg told the publication, referencing her signature garment. “I made a wrap that had lots of different cutouts so we could play with her dots and the colours of the dot and a lot of godets.”

The gown will take the form of a black-and-white silk piece,

Von Furstenberg is not the only designer helping the Disney duo mark their milestone anniversary; myriad brands have launched collections this year in homage to the style icons, including Havaianas, Lacoste and Rag & Bone.

The news comes just weeks after von Furstenberg’s DVF label hit the headlines by announcing that it had become the latest major fashion brand to eradicate the use of animal fur in its collections from 2019 onwards.
