School launches My Digital Maker Hub
KOTA KINABALU: SK(C) Anglo Chinese yesterday launched its My Digital Maker Hub, a project under the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC).
According to Assistant Education and Innovation Minister Jenifer Lasimbang, the school would undergo transformation with digital innovations through programmes under the #mydigitalmaker which focuses on 21st century skills, including digital technology skills.
She said that the hub would be equipped with various digital devices which she hoped would inspire students, teachers and the local community to start projects to create digital innovations.
She also said that the digital innovations created can be entered for various competitions at the state, national and international levels.
The SK (C) Anglo Chinese school received the support of Hap Seng Sdn Bhd to create the hub.
Jenifer added that a total of 20 schools have been selected to take part in various skills training activities organised by Hap Seng Sdn Bhd.
She urged the schools to grab the opportunities presented to them and inculcate the culture of digital innovation.
Jenifer who was launching the hub, also witnessed the closing ceremony of the school’s Karnival Bestari 4.0 organised by its ICT unit.
She said that the carnival had been held for four consecutive years to promote the culture of ICT amongst the school’s citizens.
Among the activities held at the carnival were speech competition, Frogplay Serasi Quiz competition and digital quizzes.
