120 golfers for PDIS golf tourney

-

KOTA KINABALU: A total of 120 players will be taking part in the Pertubuhan Dusun Islam Sabah - PDIS (Sabah Islamic Dusun Organisation) Golf Tournament which is happening at the Dalit Bay Golf & Country Club (DBGCC) in Tuaran on Sunday.

Organising chairman Joidin Gahim who chaired the tournament’s meeting at DBGCC yesterday said they reached the maximum number of entries (120) sooner than expected which was before the closing date for registration.

“The response for this year’s tournament is very encouraging. We had to close the entries before the actual closing date, while many players who still wanted to join had to be put on a waiting list.

“On behalf of the organiser, I would like to thank all the players and sponsors for their support.

“We apologise to those that we had to turn down and we hope that they would register earlier in future tournaments,” he said.

Attractive prizes await lucky winners including Hole-in-One prizes like a Proton Saga 1.3M car, a Harley Davidson motorcycle and RM10,000 cash.

There are also prizes for winners in all the categories.

“And like last year, we also have 50 lucky draw prizes including electrical household appliances,” Joidin said.

The tournament is part of PDIS’ annual events and it is aimed at raising funds for the organisation’s charity programmes.

Towards this end, Joidin said players were invited for breakfast at the club on Sunday before the tournament begins at 7.30am by ‘gun-shot’.
