F:30 is new benchmark for FAM
KUALA LUMPUR: The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) yesterday launched a Roadmap named F:30 with the ultimate aim of becoming Asia’s top five giants by 2030.
FAM president Datuk Hamidin Mohd Amin said F:30 was a symbol of FAM’s seriousness and it would embark on a comprehensive development plan at every level towards making Malaysia a footballing nation of repute.
“This Roadmap is a national agenda...an agenda for all of us, for me, for FAM, for the stakeholders and the fans. If we want to realise this vision, we will have to ensure the participation of all parties in reaching this common objective.
“The core of this roadmap is to empower the affiliates from the perspective of human capital development and competition, the introduction of Malaysia football DNA through uniform coaching curriculum and strong grassroots development,” he said during his speech at the F:30 launching yesterday.
Also present at yesterday’s event were International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) president, Gianni Infantino, FIFA General Secretary, Fatma Samoura, FIFA Council Member, Tengku Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah, Asia Football Confederation (AFC) president, Shaikh Salman Ebrahim Al Khalifa and AFC General Secretary, Datuk Windsor John.
Meanwhile, Infantino who was in Kuala Lumpur for the first time as FIFA President congratulated FAM on the launch of the F:30.
