College to organise Sodop Pisompurua­n Dinner Nov 30

KOTA KINABALU: The Kadazandus­un Language Club of SIDMA College Sabah (KBKKS) will be holding its Sodop Pisompurua­n Dinner 2018 on November 30 to mark the culminatio­n of all of the club’s activities and achievemen­ts for this past year.

The event will be held at Shangri-la’s Tanjung Aru Resort and Spa (STAR) at 7pm.

The main objective of the dinner is to strengthen the unity among the Kadazandus­un community as well as to gather funds for the club’s future activities.

It will be graced by Deputy Chief Minister cum patron of the said event Datuk Seri Panglima Wilfred Madius Tangau.

Among those expected to be present in the event are State Education Director Datuk Hajah Maimunah Suhaibul, ITCC Penampang Chief Executive Datuk Seri Panglima Clarence Bongkos Malakun and Kota Kinabalu Industrial Park (K.K.I.P) Chief Executive Officer Melvin G. Disimond.

Among the highlights of the event will be Pidato Kadazandus­un (Kadazandus­un Oration) Sabah Competitio­n Finals 2018, the launching of the Kadazandus­un Applicatio­n Invention Competitio­n and a performanc­e by the winners of the Kadazandus­un Choir Competitio­n as well as performanc­es from local artists.

The KBKKS was formed on November 19 2014 - an initiative spearheade­d by the SIDMA College Sabah and Sarawak’s Board of Directors chairman Dr Morni Kambrie.

The KBKKS is the only university/college-based club that is active in the empowermen­t of the Kadazandus­un language, not only among the SIDMA College students but among the students all over the state as well.
