KDCA will build KDM College in Tambunan — Pairin
KOTA KINABALU: Kadazan Dusun Cultural Association (KDCA) president Tan Sri Joseph Pairin Kitingan has given the assurance that the association will ensure the proposed KDM College in Tambunan will be built.
He said KDM College project, which was announced six years ago, had to be put on hold due to financial constraints.
The KDCA would pursue the project as it is the association’s goal for the KDM College to materialise, said Pairin after taking his oath as KDCA president for term 2018-2021 held at the ITCC, Penampang on Thursday evening.
Pairin retained the presidency unopposed at the association’s recent election of office bearers.
Besides Pairin who is Huguan Siou, the KDCA newly elected supreme council members were also sworn-in during the installation ceremony.
The site for the proposed the KDM College was done at the Tambunan Pisompuruan Square during the project groundbreaking ceremony in June 2012. But the project earmarked in Kaingaran has yet to take off.
Pairin said the KDCA, as a voluntary organisation, had to rely on contributions from the public to implement its activities for the KDM community.
According to him, the association had establised the Huguan Siou Charitable Foundation to provide assistance to boost education level among the KDM community.
