Public Bank to expand RCB services nationwide

-

KUALA LUMPUR: Public Bank Bhd (PB) plans to expand its Red Carpet Banking (RCB) services nationwide in 2019 to widen its market reach and enable more customers to enjoy the benefits.

This follows the rebranding of RCB as RCB Exclusives and launch of the PB RCB Mastercard Premier Debit Cards, namely, the RCB Elite Debit Card and RCB Gold Debit Card, said PB managing director, Tan Sri Tay Ah Lek.

“To date, there are seven RCB centres located in the Federal Territories, Johor and Melaka,” he said at the RCB rebranding and debit cards launch ceremony here yesterday.

Tay said RCB Exclusives’ customers can enjoy the benefits offered by the PB RCB Premier Fixed Deposit/Term Deposit-i Campaign, RCB Membership Sign-Up Campaign and RCB Customer Referral Programme.

The PB RCB Premier Fixed Deposit (FD)/ Term Deposit-i Campaign offers FD interest rates/ profit rates of up to 4.4 per cent per annum for 12-month placement, while the RCB Membership SignUp Campaign offers a selection of sign-up gifts exclusively for new members.

“The two new PB RCB Mastercard Premier Debit Cards are exclusively designed and issued to premier RCB Elite and RCB Gold members.

“Both debit cards serve as RCB membership cards, allowing customers to earn VIP Points on their retail purchases,” Tay said.

Meanwhile, Mastercard Malaysia and Brunei Country Manager Perry Ong said the debit cards would cater to the evolving needs of the country’s growing premium customer segment.

“These debit cards are better than cash and ATM cards, and will deliver exclusive experiences in dining, luxury accommodations, shopping and entertainment.

“The new debit cards are also great for travel as they allow cardholders to make secure and convenient purchases overseas at merchant locations that accept Mastercard,” Ong said. — Bernama
