VK Liew says his properties being valued

-

KUALA LUMPUR: De facto Law Minister Datuk Liew Vui Keong said the valuation of his properties is pending and he will update his declaration with the authority soon.

“I had notified the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) in October that I was unable to put value on my assets due to several reasons,” he said, when contacted by the media here, yesterday.

According to him, among the reasons were that he had held some properties of native titles in Sabah for at least three decades and their values are unknown at the time of declaration.

“Hence, as I am not selling them any time now, the need to value the properties does not arise,” he said.

“The declaration form asked in a column if I knew of their current value and I put “not available” as I don’t have information of their current values at that time,” he explained.

“The same goes to two of my properties currently on loan with the bank. Their current values were not available to me at the time I filled the column, but I did state the value of the properties at the time of purchase several years ago,” added Liew.

“But I have declared to the MACC of the number of properties I have last October except for their current values,” he said.

Liew was said to be one of the several MPs who have declared their assets save for their valuation to the MACC.
