Maintain work integrity culture – hospital director
KOTA KINABALU: Civil servants, especially staff of Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH), are urged to continue to maintain work integrity culture in carrying out health and medical services for the community.
QEH director Dr William Gotulis also called on all the staff of QEH to continue to adhere to noble values which are an important factor in achieving personal and organizational success.
He said integrity and ethics at work were not merely the involvement of individuals to provide for their own needs, but to engage in the good actions done at work, and all have a close relationship with the teachings of religions and the responsibility of being commendable.
“High quality staff members or civil servants are an important asset to the success of an organization. The nature of trust, transparency, responsibility and service in the public interest is the essence of the term integrity and ethics.
“If an unethical and nonintegrity act is allowed to go on, it will eliminate the trust of the community and affect the image of the workers and organizations represented,” said Dr William in his monthly address to the QEH staff members recently.
In this regard, Dr William reckoned that the need for serious efforts to strengthen the integrity and best governance require the commitment of all to cover the officers, staff and organizations themselves by following all the rules and best practices.
More than 500 QEH staff members, comprising heads of departments and units and senior officers attended the first monthly gathering of 2019 at QEH Twin Tower Building here.
