Man with syabu, knuckle duster among 17 arrested

KOTA KINABALU: A man who had 24 packets of syabu and a knuckle duster was among 17 people who were rounded up in an anti-crime operation over the weekend.

City police chief ACP Habibi Majinji said the other suspects were arrested for various other offences, including not having valid identification documents.

The suspects, aged between four and 45 years old, were among the 72 screened during the integrated operation by the police, National Registration Department, Immigration Department, Civil Defence Corp, Rela and City Hall, he said.

The operation from 4.30 pm on Saturday to 2.30 am on Sunday was conducted in the city area, Sembulan, Likas, Tanjung Aru, Inanam and Telipok.

Other than the man in possession of the drug and knuckle duster, those arrested comprised 13 illegal immigrants and three who tested positive for drug abuse, Habibi disclosed.
