KOTA KINABALU: The management of Yayasan Usaha Maju (YUM) has been urged to constantly improve the quality and capability of its service delivery system to the community.

Acting permanent secretary to the Ministry of Finance, Datuk Bahari Hassan, said such effort is important to enable YUM to achieve its expected target.

“The YUM management should be visionary, creative and strive to identify specific areas in the micro credit market where YUM can build a competitive advantage to maximize the impact of this program on target groups.

“The change in terms of higher value-added innovative product offerings should be implemented,” he said at the launch of YUM's new logo here last Saturday evening.

The text of Bahari's speech was delivered by the permanent secretary to the Ministry of Rural Development, Datuk Abu Bakar Abdul Latif, who represented the former at the event.

Bahari, who is also chairman of YUM's Board of Trustees, said the launch of the new logo should be implemented to ensure that the foundation has a new identity to illustrate its maturity and function in the current socioeconomic era.
