Father of female K-pop star accused of sexual assault

SEOUL: Police have launched an investigat­ion into the chef father of a female K-pop idol for allegedly sexually assaulting a restaurant employee.

Namyangju Police Station said a complaint was filed in September. The accuser claimed she had been habitually sexually harassed and assaulted by the chef, the owner of the eatery, in and out of the workplace.

“We have investigat­ed both victim and the assailant but have not yet found any tangible evidence,” a police official said. “We secured communicat­ion data and are currently working on it.”

The chef has reportedly denied the allegation. He is the father of a prominent female idol singer and also featured on a television show, according to several reports.

Although no further details are available, online users have been speculatin­g on the singer's name.
