Ariel Lin’s costars end up with successful careers after collaborating with her

-

TAIPEI: Not only do dramas featuring Ariel Lin record high ratings every time, but the 36year-old seems to bring fame to her male costars.

Many of Ariel’s male costars end up with successful careers after collaborating with her, including Marcus Chang from 2003’s ‘My Secret Garden’, Mike Ho from 2004’s ‘Love Contract’, and Joe Cheng from 2005’s ‘It Started with a Kiss’. Her collaboration with Wu Chun in 2006’s ‘Tokyo Juliet’ kickstarted the Fahrenheit member’s television career as a leading actor, and 2011’s ‘In Time with You’ revived Chen Bo-lin’s stagnating career. William Feng went through another popularity boost after starring alongside Ariel in ‘Prince of Lan Ling’. In 2018, Ariel collaborated with Liu Ye for ‘Old Boy’, which broke 100 million views within three days.

And now, in 2019, Ariel Lin’s comeback drama ‘I Will Never Let You Go’ is pushing her costar Vin Zhang to new heights in his career.

Ariel has also maintained close friendships with her male costars over the years. She is still close friends with Taiwanese actor Eli Shih, her costar from her debut drama ‘True love’. Eli said, “She is the only person who would send me birthday messages every single year, even when she’s not in the country. She would write something like, ‘Nan ge, sorry, there was a time difference. Yesterday was actually your birthday,’ every single year, without fail.”

Ariel is also close friends with Chinese actor Hu Ge, her costar in 2006’s ‘The Little Fairy’ and 2008’s ‘The Legend of the Condor Heroes’. Hu Ge flew all the way to Taiwan for her wedding to Charles Lin in 2014, and in 2016 when Hu Ge won Most Popular Actor at the Golden Eagle Awards, he specifically thanked Ariel for her support over the years. “Acting is a journey to explore about what it means to be human,” said Hu Ge. “(Ariel) once told me to use my life to act. I would never forget those words.”
