SlingApp tar­gets to match 1 mln jobs by year-end

KUALA LUMPUR: Job-seek­ing mo­bile ap­pli­ca­tion SlingApp tar­gets to match more than one mil­lion jobs across 10 in­dus­tries by year-end for job seek­ers aged 18 to 30 years.

SlingApp co-founder Teh Tian Ji said since its launch in 2017, SlingApp has suc­cess­fully matched 40,000 job seek­ers to more than 2,000 com­pa­nies in­clud­ing ma­jor global brands such as DiGi Com­mu­ni­ca­tions, AEON, Mary Kay, Sushi King, Tony Roma’s and Pub­lic Mu­tual.

“The job search will be set within a 30km ra­dius for trav­el­ling con­ve­nience and the first screen­ing of the hir­ing process is done through its Auto-In­ter­viu fea­ture which con­tains five tai­lored ques­tions to the ap­pli­cants,” he said in a state­ment yes­ter­day.

Slingapp has also part­nered with the Malaysia Dig­i­tal Econ­omy Cor­po­ra­tion’s eRezeki pro­gramme, and aims to as­sist the lower in­come house­holds to im­prove their liveli­hoods by en­abling them to par­tic­i­pate in in­come op­por­tu­ni­ties of­fered via dig­i­tal means.

“Through this ap­pli­ca­tion, we can help young job seek­ers to seek non-ex­ec­u­tive jobs ei­ther for full-time, part-time em­ploy­ment or in­tern­ship place­ments eas­ily from var­i­ous in­dus­tries such as the startup and tech sec­tor, food and bev­er­age, cus­tomer ser­vice, beauty and health­care, re­tail, fi­nance and so on via the ap­pli­ca­tion,” he said.
