CGC bags ADFIAP’s Merit Award for imSME
KUALA LUMPUR: Credit Guarantee Corporation Malaysia Bhd (CGC) won a Merit Award for imSME - Malaysia’s 1st SME Financing/Loan Referral Platform - as an Outstanding SME Development Project by the Association of Development Financing Institutions in Asia and the Pacific (ADFIAP) on 20 February 2019 in Muscat, Oman.
CGC president and chief executive officer Datuk Mohd Zamree Mohd Ishak received the Award from Her Highness Sayyida Rawan Ahmed Al Said - the CEO of Takaful Oman - in Muscat, Oman during ADFIAP’s Gala Dinner and Awards Night held in conjunction with ADFIAP’s 42nd Annual Meeting which was attended by over 150 delegates from its 91 member institutions from 36 countries.
The ADFIAP’s “Outstanding SME Development Project Awards” recognises and honours member institutions which have undertaken projects that have created a development impact in their respective countries. ADFIAP was founded in 1976 and is the largest and most prestigious aggrupation of development banks and financial institutions in the Asia-Pacific Region.
imSME celebrated its 1st Anniversary on 9 February 2019 and to-date, imSME has received over 360,000 visitors with over RM50 million of SME financing approved online. imSME connects SMEs to more than 20 participating financial institutions, agencies, peer-to-peer lenders and capacity building partners. imSME enables SMEs to search for financing/ loan online through 4-easy steps available 24/7 anytime, anywhere.
Commenting on the award, Zamree said, “I would like to record my utmost appreciation to my Colleagues in CGC for their hardwork in making imSME a success and thank CGC’s chairman and board of directors for their guidance and support.
