Strong mentality needed against Kedah – Billyton

-

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Under-19 football squad head coach Billyton Vun Kit Ming wants his charges to maintain a strong mentality when they host Kedah in the Youth Cup League match at the Penampang Stadium, late this afternoon.

“We have trained the squad to improve their physical and tactical game but the players must also have strong mentality.

“I hope to see some improvement in this when we host Kedah to try and get a second win,” Billyton said when contacted here, yesterday.

The Group B match is scheduled to kick-off at 4.15pm and Billyton urged local football fans to turn up in numbers to support the team.

Two earlier matches saw Sabah lead their opponent but failed to win the match as the players could not maintain a solid mentality.

“However, there was some improvement and we managed to win 2-1 against Negeri Sembilan to redeem the 3-1 defeat to JDT IV in our first match.

“I want to see the players do better this time. If they adapt what they were taught in training then hopefully we can continue to win,” Billyton said.

The same line-up that was featured in the match against Negeri Sembilan is expected to be fielded today.

Sabah's probable lineup includes Fahmi Ikhwan Muhamad Azmi, Xsevier Xcico Felex, Mohd Farhan Airil Aziz, Rayner Doliente, Radzee Eqmal Ramli, Mohamad Sahrizan Saidin, Asymasi Sulikin, Johan Mansor, Seherry Aladin, Mohd Faqrul Idris and Ahmad Irwanto Rusli.
