LFC World offers fans the Anfield atmosphere

KUALA LUMPUR: Liverpool Football Club (LFC) fans in Malaysia will have a two-day opportunity to be at ‘Anfield’ as Kuala Lumpur has been confirmed as the next stop for LFC World on April 20-21.

Standard Chartered said in a statement yesterday that the free two-day experience would see the creation of an LFC World Hub at One Utama Centre Court.

According to the statement, fans would be able to have their own taste of Anfield with the re-creation of iconic locations such as the Shankly Gates and ‘This Is Anfield’ signage.

“There is also LFC World’s own version of the Anfield dressing room, where fans can sit under the jerseys of their favourite LFC players, namely Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, Virgil van Dijk and Roberto Firmino, to create their own iconic dressing room image,” the statement said.

Beside lots of fun activities as well as special prizes and giveaways, fans will also be able to meet three LFC legends in Jason McAteer, Sami Hyppia and Steve McManaman.

“Liverpool FC is one of the world’s best-known football clubs with a huge fan base across our core markets, including Malaysia, and we are proud to be associated with them.

“We are extremely excited to extend exclusive benefits, including access to Liverpool FC Legends, merchandise and even tickets to Anfield to our community, clients, staff and LFC fans alike,” said Standard Chartered Malaysia chief executive officer Abrar A. Anwar in the statement.

Meanwhile, Hyppia said: “For the Reds in Malaysia, LFC World Kuala Lumpur is the place to be. We know not all our fans can make it to Anfield, so this is our way of bringing Anfield closer to them. We can’t wait to meet everyone, it’s going to be a fantastic weekend.”

Die-hard Reds supporters can also experience the Anfield atmosphere as there will be a viewing party and live on-stage activity with LFC legends prior to the match against Cardiff City on April 21.
