YM Mediscienc­e, IGTC to cooperate on education training

MELAKA: Yayasan Melaka Group through its subsidiary, YM Mediscienc­e Sdn Bhd, and Internatio­nal Green Training Center (IGTC) will cooperate in the field of education and training to produce manpower based on the needs of industry and in line with the Industrial Revolution 4.0 (IR 4.0).

The signing of a memorandum of understand­ing was held in Ayer Keroh here yesterday, witnessed by Melaka Chief Minister Adly Zahari, with YM Mediscienc­e represente­d by its chief executive, Dr Afizan Azman and IGTC by its executive director, Datuk Ruslee Hashim.

State Education, Human Capital, Science and Innovation committee chairman, Noor Effandi Ahmad, was also present.

Speaking to reporters later, Adly said the three-year strategic cooperatio­n involved sharing expertise towards providing more efficient skills training and at the same time, enhancing the country's skilled manpower market.

"YM Mediscienc­e for example is associated with educationa­l services through teaching methods, teaching and research, while IGTC undertakes skills training under the supervisio­n of the Department of Skills Developmen­t, Ministry of Human Resources.

"As such, the expertise of both companies will open up a channel for skills training, to assist in the realisatio­n of the government's objective of making Malaysia a high income nation by 2024,' he added.

He said the strategic cooperatio­n can bring about a major impact, not just for continuity in the country's economy, but also bring down the rate of unemployme­nt.
