Cypark bags National Energy Award for Malaysia’s first grid connected floating solar project
Cypark Resources Berhad has been awarded as the winner of National Energy Award (NEA) for Category 2 - Renewable Energy (National Grid), at the NEA Gala Night held at the Majestic Hotel Kuala Lumpur.
The award was presented by the Minister of Energy, Science, Technology, Environment and Climate Change (MESTECC), Yeo Bee Yin.
Formerly known as NEGTA, all submissions were evaluated by a panel of esteemed judges to ensure only the best will win the award. NEA strives to recognize the best implemented practices, solutions in Energy Management and Efficiency that showcase innovative, cost effective and exemplary measures.
Under the RE category, Cypark won the coveted award for its project, “Grid Connected Floating Solar System on The Water Retention Dam, Negeri Sembilan,” which was commissioned in 2016. As a winner, Cypark will be representing Malaysia at the renowned Asean Energy Awards 2019.
En. Achmat Nadhrain bin Ibrahim, Senior General Manager, whom received the award on behalf of Cypark said, “We are proud of this recognition from the federal government, particularly from MESTECC.
This is a validation of the staff ’s hard work and innovation. Our thanks to the Ministry for their acknowledgement and also to the state government of Negeri Sembilan for their continued support.”

The National Energy Awards is an initiative by MESTECC to acknowledge the adopters of energyefficiency technology and renewable energy in driving towards Malaysia’s sustainable development aspirations, while simultaneously inspiring others to follow suit.
