Fatimah: Cabinet reshuffle takes into account current changes, needs

The state Cabinet reshuffle is focused on the current changes and needs, says Minister of Welfare, Community Well Being, Women, Family and Childhood Developmen­t Dato Sri Fatimah Abdullah.

She said the minor reshuffle would strengthen the service delivery system implemente­d by the Sarawak government.

“There are a few things to focus on, said Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg during a cabinet meeting today (yesterday) in our march to become a developed state by 2030. One of them is transporta­tion and there will be a few things that will be announced for implementa­tion.

“We hope this minor reshuffle will strengthen our delivery ssytem and more focussed on current needs,” she said when met at her office after receiving a courtesy call from Sarawak Forestry Corporatio­n (SFC) officials yesterday.

She thanked former Second Finance Minister Dato Sri Wong Soon Koh who resigned in July, for his immense contributi­ons.

“Wongwas a very senior minister and a very experience­d politician who has contribute greatly to the developmen­t of Sibu and Sarawak overall. We cannot forget his contributi­ons. He is also a very nice person and I personally wish him the best.”

Wong’s vacant post is taken by Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah who is also Deputy Chief Minister, and Minister of Modernisat­ion of Agricultur­e, Native Land and Regional Developmen­t.

Datuk Lee Kim Shin who was previously Assistant Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture was appointed Transport Minister.
