Release missing 5,000 pages of RCI Report now – SAPP

-

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) vicepresident Gee Tien Siong yesterday called on the government to immediately release the 5,000 missing pages which were omitted from the Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) Report on Illegal Immigrants.

Gee said in a statement yesterday that DAP leaders, who are now top leaders in both the federal and Sabah governments, have demanded that the 5,000 pages of evidence presented to the RCI panel during the public hearings in 2012 and 2013 were not included in the RCI report.

The RCI report was released on 3rd December 2014. Therefore, the 5,000 pages of evidence should also become public documents, Gee said.

“DAP Supremo Lim Kit Siang was the one making the most noise about the missing 5,000 pages. As DAP is now the biggest party in the Pakatan Harapan government, they should not disappoint the people. They should immediately cause the release of the 5,000 missing pages,” he added.

Gee said that if the 5,000 pages were released, then the people would know more about what happened in the period from the 1970s to present day until 2014. Then, the people would know what needs to be done to tackle and solve Sabah’s illegal immigrant problems.

“Since the Minister of Home Affairs, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, said that the proposed Special Pass (Pas Sementara Sabah) for migrants can solve the issue of various documents issued to immigrants before, then the government must not hold back on the 5,000 missing pages,” he said.
